FIJI’S leading entertainment outfit Pasifika Prima Voce will perform at a fundraiser for the St John’s Association of Fiji on Saturday June 17 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

In a statement, St John Association of Fiji marketing and charity events planning officer Darlene Underwood said St John was a distinguished international order with its origins dating back to 600AD and was among the selected few bestowed with a Royal Charter.

She said they were working in partnership with Pasifika Prima Vocé to put together a world class operatic show — I BELIEVE #SAVING LIVES gala night on June 17 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva which was a strictly black-tie event.

“For a charitable organisation as ours, rising costs and the constant efforts to ensure we have a sufficient supply of vital goods like oxygen, lifesaving first-aid equipment for ambulances services, first aid training equipment, materials for community and schools’ services, public events duties, vehicular maintenance et cetera, presents a bleak situation to sustain our daily operations,” Ms Underwood said.

“Our constant need to seek some assistance to ensure our trained officers and volunteers on the ground are sufficiently provided with the proper supplies for their work.”

She said they had a list of costly equipment such as defibrillators as every ambulance must be supplied with the lifesaving device.

“This fund-raising is the beginning of St John’s efforts towards upgrades of our tools of work and replacement of vital equipment used in saving lives.

“Some of this equipment are specialised and in urgent need of replacement to improve productivity and raise the level of comfort and care when serving the community.”
