Farmer in remand

A 29-YEAR-OLD farmer who allegedly poured hot water on his 52-year-old father and struck him with a stick has been remanded by the Savusavu Magistrate’s Court until June 19.

A police statement highlighted the man was brought in for a case of intent to cause grievous bodily harm after he allegedly attacked his father following a heated argument at their home in Vunimakosoi Settlement.

The matter was reported to the Tukavesi Police Station on Monday. Police also confirmed the victim was admitted at the Labasa Hospital and in a stable condition.

The Fiji Police Force is also pleading with members of the public not to resort to violence when settling grievances.
