Fresh from playing the final of the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League, the Suva football side has set its sights on defending the Digicel Fiji FACT title.

The Babs Khan-coached side received a major boost ahead of the tournament which starts this Friday.

Extra Supermarket, Container Haulage and All Freight Logistics have come on board as sponsors for the Capital City side.

Team president Ritesh Pratap said their sponsorship would assist the side sail through the first major local tournament of the year.

“We had a lot of expenses at the OFC Champions League and I am thankful to my sponsors for coming on board and giving us this timely assistance,” Pratap said.

He said that playing the tournament on home turf came with pressure and having good financial backing was a relief.

“For a team like ours, we have a lot of expenses and before the tournament starts, we have many obligations to meet as a team.

“Having the quality of sponsors like we have is just a blessing for us officials.”

Suva takes on Lautoka in their opening match at 5.30pm on Friday at the HFC Bank Stadium. The Whites are looking to make it three-in-a-row at the FACT.
