Oceans Gala fashion event a success

Acknowledging the United Nations Decade of Oceans, the Oceans Gala Fiji Fashion Week which took place over the weekend was a success.
In her address, FFW’s managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said the show acknowledged the ocean as a life force for Fiji and other Pacific Island countries.
“The ocean is what connects us to the world to share our ideas and creativity and learn new ways uniting us as a global community,” she said.
Meanwhile, serving inmate Jessica Hill was among the blooming designers that showcased their collection at the event, winning accolades and turning heads.
JACISSE, Hill’s clothing line, translated into “Jessica transformed”.
Hill’s designs featured beachwear and summer clothing in shades of blue and white.
Among notable designers at the show was Hupfeld Hoerder who wowed fashionistas with his blushing summer themed Pacific bold print designs, and emerging designer Hosanna Kabakoro presenting her “Duidui” clothing line.
Cherish Prasad and Priyanka Singh also presented their clothing lines at the show.
