Raiders make winning start

The Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) women’s competition commenced on Saturday with four matches played at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Vusu Raiders got a convincing victory over Yasawa Saints 36-4.

Team manager Nanise Tuquiri said despite the win, there needed to be more work done to better their performance.

“We need to work on our techniques, skills and fitness, but we will improve on it once the competition rolls on,” she said.

The side led 24-0 at half-time. T

uquiri added that the message at the breather was to be confident, deliver what is expected and keep moving forward.

“They had to stick to the game plan and we are happy with their performance.”

Raiders play Burenitu Cowgirls from Ra in round two next week.
