We aim to give our best. This was the message from Fiji national 7s development assistant coach, Sireli Bobo, as the national development team left for the Marist 7s in Samoa this weekend.

“It is a good opportunity for these boys to show their potential and we want to develop them further for our future plan,” said the former national 7s winger.

He said the boys had been training for the past couple of months and they are aware of the task at hand.

“We want to win every tournament where the national team participates in and we are focusing on that.”

Bobo said the side would get to know their pool opponents once they are in Samoa. “I have not named my captain yet but I know the name in my mind.

“I want to encourage club coaches if players are selected to be part of the development squad – let them be because we want to upskill them and groom them further.”

He made that comment after stating some of the players pulled out and he does not know why.

The two-day Marist 7s would be held on this Friday and Saturday.

The 12-member squad – Josevani Drava, Waisake Ravuiwasa, Rauto Vakadranu, Josese Batirerega, Penaia Nawaqabuli, Netava Koroisau, Josateki Tuilawaki, Maleli Tuvusa, Isimeli Tikomaimereke, Naibuka Rokua, Jone Natanu, Rokua Rasaku.
